Each of the leaf decorated pots start with a walk in the woods, where I select the leaves that will decorate every piece. The leaves are carefully pressed on the pots creating a one-of-a-kind design. Next the leaves are removed and the ware is fired to 1800°. The imprint of the leaf is then brushed with oxides and wiped with a damp sponge to stain its veins. Every leaf is then masked with liquid wax using a tiny brush. The piece is finally ready to be glazed and fired to 2200°.
